"Toph?" Zuko shook the sleeping earthbender's shoulder.
"Unh? Zuko, wuzzamatta? It's really late." slurred a sleepy Toph.
"Toph, you know how you showed me at the play how you showed affection?"
Toph nodded, now fully awake in the young prince's abandoned family vacation home.
"Well, this is how I show affection. I would have done it right there if that kid hadn't annoyed me."
Toph reached out to Zuko, unsure, and he put his neck in her small arms, and pressed his lips against her own, and they embraced, as they always should have done long ago...

*~You're the One for Me~*

Zuko sat down on the sand next to Toph, and she voiced what she thought.
"Zuko, you don't... like Katara...do you?" Toph asked hesitantly, her body tensing.
"NO! ...Toph, everyone thinks that, but it's completely made up."
Toph relaxed, smiled, and punched him in the arm. Zuko winced, because even though he had grown used to her painful embraces, it still really hurt.
"And you don't still like that gloomy girl you're always hanging around?"
"Mai? No... I'm confused about her, Toph, I'm not sure if I love her or not... wait, why are you asking me this?"
"Well, because, you're really growing on me, Sparky. I trusted you to visit you, and I wanted to comfort you, and, well, I wanted to go search for Aang with you for more reasons than one."
Zuko blushed like he did when she glomped him days ago, and he wrapped his arm around Toph, who gave him a really hard affectionate punch, harder than ever.
